The Chemical Industry Transition Pathway

It’s about “the How” – What’s your role in the Transition Pathway?

Our industry is at a crossroads. We are committed to the European Green Deal goals, yet the transitional objectives are massive and manyfold: going climate neutral, circular, digitalise, while ensuring that our products are safe and sustainable-by-design in a zero-pollution environment. We call this “the double-twin transition”. The energy crisis reinforces the urgency to build resilience but it is also expecting to impact the industry’s capacity to invest, at a time where it is most needed.

The co-creation process of the Transition Pathway is drawing to an end, but our journey has just begun. Our goal: we want to see the Transition Pathway reflected in all upcoming EU policy and regulatory proposals and translated into national plans. It is only by working together with one common voice we can achieve this ambitious goal. And we need you to be part of this co-implementation process.

In this session, Florie Gonsolin, who has led Cefic’s work on the Transition Pathway, will be joined by Amandine Joannesse, Policy Officer at the European Commission to discuss and share the most recent updates, what can be expected from this document and, most importantly, what’s next?

Join us to find out how our industry can support the EU Green Deal goals, while also becoming more resilient and competitive.
