Giorgio Botta is a Senior Associate on Sustainable Finance at the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME), where he represents leading global and European banks and other significant capital market players. The purpose of his work on ESG policy and advocacy is to enable banks’ role in financing the transition towards a sustainable economy. Previously, Giorgio was a regulatory policy advisor at EFAMA, the voice of the European asset management industry, where he notably worked on sustainability disclosures, corporate governance, and stewardship issues. He has experience in SMEs policy, portfolio management and trading of energy commodities. Giorgio holds an International Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Bologna and a postgraduate degree in Economic Diplomacy and International Business from the Free University of Brussels.
