iC2050 – Cefic’s new model to calculate possible pathways to a climate-neutral chemical production

What are the concrete options for chemical companies to turn production to become climate-neutral by 2050? This year, Cefic has been developing an online model to explore possible cost-optimal pathways to reach climate-neutral chemical production by 2050. During this session, we will explain the model scope and logic, and we will share our initial findings. We will show a few illustrative scenarios, explaining what they mean in terms of abatement trajectories, technological changes, resource needs and costs for the industry.
